About us

The Powderly Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1964 with a small two bay station located on old firehouse road(cr 43200) with a single truck and a handful of dedicated volunteers. Since then the PVFD has grown significantly to having 7 apparatus's and roughly 40-45 Volunteer Firefighter's who proudly serve a population of over 5,500 residents in a 88.4 sq mi area. We  serve our community with Honor, Integrity, and Pride. As the busiest Volunteer Fire Department in Lamar County answering a call volume of 500-600 calls average. We are constantly evolving to provide the best possible fire service to our community.
